Advanced Diploma of Fine Arts
To enter the Advanced Diploma of Fine Arts at Brougham, students need to have successfully completed 1st and 2nd year of the Diploma of Visual Art, or an accredited course that is equivalent in length and content.

There are 5 core units and 2 elected specialisation units.

The first year at Brougham comprises core units in drawing and art history/theory.

The second year allows the student to specialise in a painting, drawing, printmaking or photography elective. A pre-requisite for the specialisation choice is that a major or minor study in that specialisation discipline was undertaken at Diploma level.

As each Specialisation Unit has a nominal requirement of over 200 hours, Brougham has divided each into ‘Studio Practice’ and ‘Research’. In the 1st semester students in Interdisciplinary Drawing III will explore ideas through the process of drawing, incorporating historical and contemporary research, observation of the life model, some 3D work and the use of computer-aided software.

In Cultural Productions III students will review contemporary art practice through exhibition visits, lectures and a reading program.
